The President of the Republic is the head of State in East Timor. He is elected for a five-year term. The president doesnft have a power to government legislation although his powers are limited. The president usually appoints leaders majority of the party coalition and also the cabinet on the proposals. He also usually presides the cabinet.The national parliament has members who are popularly voted and has five-year term. Number of seats varies from 52 to 65. The country is still in process of building government institutions and fixing its administrations.
